3 Steps to a Simple Christmas Centerpiece

Published by kyellis under Holiday, How To Edit This

christmas-centerpieces.jpgStart by considering the size of your table. With a larger table start with a silver or ceramic platter or tray. With a smaller table consider a glass bowl large round plate or basket. If you have a large table, but only smaller containers, use candle tapers in holders at each end to make it appear larger.

Step 1. Start with a plain table cloth. It can be a festive red, burgundy or forest green. It can also be white, taupe or cream. Make sure it’s ironed smooth. You can really ruin a beautiful table with a wrinkled table cloth.

Step 2. After deciding on the container to be used fill it with one item for a really elegant look. If you don’t have a proper container, consider wrapping a square gift box with foil wrapping paper.

* Pine cones, spray them with a gloss or matt clear spray finish. Make sure you do it outdoors or in an open garage.

* Extra ornaments, especially all ball ornaments. Mix the colors or use just red or gold or silver.

* Wrap different sized small boxes with paper and ribbon. They can be empty for show or you can add a gift for each person having Christmas Dinner and present it as part of dessert.

* Candy canes

* Shiny red apples

* Tiny Christmas tree with tiny ornaments and bows. This is great to add those small gifts beneath.

* Nuts, unshelled, mixed or one kind.

* Hard Christmas candy

Step 3. Add pillar or taper candles, one or three are the perfect numbers, depending on the size of your arrangement. Of course, if you already decided on candles to the sides of your arrangement you would want to skip this step. However, adding pine greenery is always attractive in the arrangement or around it.
