American Idol’s Melinda Doolittle on the Road to Fame

Published by kyellis under News Edit This

Third place winner, Melinda Doolittle, of American Idol’s sixth season finally snags a record deal with Hi Fi Recordings (MPCA). The “heart-of-gold” singer has waited a year to get the attention of a record label. An official date for her first CD is yet to be named. However, it is said to be sometime this fall. “It’s Your Love,” the first single was released to nationwide radio stations and should be heard this month. Completing the

Melinda Doolittle of American Idol, has a big draw in appealing to many different age and ethnic groups. Before her run on American Idol, she sang as a backup singer to various celebrities as Aaron Neville, BeBe, Alabama, Michael McDonald and many others. Although taking third place, Simon Cowell (American Idol judge) spoke out saying that Melinda should have been chosen the winner.

It had been suggested she would have a strong singing career after her American Idol appearance and that she would sour to the heights of Tina Turner and Gladys Knight. She took the stage for her first solo performance at the Boiler Room in Franklin Tennessee, November 9th of last year. She sang America’s favorites from her Idol days including an all time favorite rendition of “Amazing Grace.” She followed with a performance at the Whitehouse on November 13th. She’s participated in three nation wide tours including the first being the American Idol tour.

May 10th Melinda Doolittle performed in Reno, Nevada at a benefit concert and sang six of her favorites including “How Can You Mend a Broken Heart” and “I’ve Got Rhythm.” Many other charitable events have followed.

The ambitious Melinda Doolittle plans two more albums before the year is out. The second will be comprised of completely original material and the third will be a Christmas album.

Top 10 Celebrities Today

Published by kyellis under News Edit This

Yesterday’s post using the word “sex” sprinkled throughout did give some small results. My usual number of hits on my blogs of anywhere from 10 to 24 went up to 38, I certainly don’t see this as a success. After all, I did have 45 hits on a regular political article not too long ago. It astonished me at the time and I still can not replicate the results although I have tried to do so using the same subject matter.

A really odd thing is that I got 38 “unique visits” and 209 “total visits.” I don’t understand why I got so many total visits. I suppose it doesn’t matter as I only get paid for the “unique visits.” However, I would have felt very successful if I’d gotten the 209 hits as “unique visits.”

So, I suppose even though I suspect the top search word list I acquired is a bit dated, sex and words such as that will always be in the top Google searches. So, today let’s try the names of top celebrities. After I Googled to find out who the were, I looked up latest news on them. Now, I’ll attempt to do a story on several of them each day and see who gets the most “unique hits.”

After doing a few celebrity stories, I’ll post a summing up article to let you know if I was able to acquire more hits with celebrity stories than straight news stories which is what I’ve been writing for the last month. So, I’ll be posting two articles today in Today.com as I don’t think this one will bring many hits on it’s own.

The top celebrities are listed as: Brad Pitt, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Mariah Carey, George Clooney, Lindsey Lohan, Cameron Diaz, Angelina Jolie, Fergie, and others. Paris Hilton is nowhere to be found. Although she does have a new show on about picking her next best friend.

From here I’m heading to “Entertainment Weekly” where I’ll start my research as I’ve read they are a reliable, up-to-date source.
