Anchors Keith Olberman and Chris Mathews Looking for Work?
Both Chris Mathews and Keith Olberman were canned by MSNBC. They were hired as live anchors for the station. Apparently there were complaints about their coverage and comments at the Democrat and Republican National Conventions. They announce last Sunday that Chris Mathews and Keith Olberman would be dismissed of their current duties as lead political anchors, but would be retained as political annalists. Reporter, David Gregory has been chosen by NCNBD to take the place of Olberman and Mathews. Gregory will cover the vice presidential, presidential debates and election night.
Chris Mathews, born in 1945, may be best known for “Hardball with Chris Mathews,” a MSNBC talk show. And on weekends he’s known for hosting the show “The Chris Mathews Show,” an NBC panel talk show. From 1987 to 2000 he worked 13 years as San Francisco Examiner’s Washington DC Bureau Chief and 2 years as a San Francisco Chronicle syndicated columnist.
Keith Olberman, born in 1959, known for his hosting of a news cast “Countdown with Keith Olberman,” on MSNBC. Olberman can also be seen as co-host, along with Bob costas, of “NBC’s Football Night in America.” He joined ESPN’s Sports Center in 1992, leaving in 1997 in the midst of a feud with ESPN management. However in 2005 he returned to ESPN radio to co-host, along with Dan Patrick, the Dan Patrick show. Olberman is a die-hard baseball fan and a member of the Society for American Baseball Research.
