Sunshine Mary Smoothie
Sunshine Mary Smoothie
This is a great alternative to a morning Bloody Mary. You ‘ll love it as an afternoon pick-me-up as well.
Ingredients
1 cup carrot juice, or make your own by cooking carrots until tender and blending
4 tomatoes, chopped
2 large red bell peppers, chopped
1 tablespoon lemon juice
½ teaspoon Worcester sauce
3 drops Tabasco sauce
black pepper to taste
8 ice cubes
Directions
Combine ingredients in the blender and process until thoroughly mixed. Pour in to chilled glasses. Garnish with green olives, red bell pepper strips or lemon or lime wedge. Serves 2
When serving the Sunshine Mary Smoothie in the afternoon, try this Garlic Grunch snack as an appetizer.
Garlic Grunch
Ingredients
8 oz. corn checks
8 oz. wheat checks
1 cup cashews
2 cups pretzel sticks
¼ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
2 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons Worcester sauce
1 teaspoon garlic salt
½ teaspoon onion salt
Directions
Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Lightly grease cookie sheet. Combine in pan, corn checks, wheat checks, cashews pretzels and cheese. In a small pan, melt butter. Add to butter, the remaining ingredients, mix well. Pour butter mixture over the pan ingredients, coating the mixture. Bake for one hour, stirring every twenty minutes. Pull from oven and pour mixture onto a separate cookie sheet to cool. Makes 12 – 13 cups.
