Papaya Twist (Smoothie)

Because pineapple and papaya contain rich anti-oxidants and digestive system stimulating enzymes, this smoothie is a great non-alcoholic cocktail. Or, to replace the meal’s beverage. Smoothies are always a great way to get your child to eat fruit and vegetables.

Ingredients

1 papaya, chopped
½ fresh pineapple, chopped
½ pear, chopped
2/3 cup milk
1 small vanilla yogurt

Directions

Place all ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth.
Pour into chilled glasses. Garnish with pineapple slices to rim of glasses.

For a healthy lunch to share with the kids or spouse try this Nuttercream spread on toasted whole wheat bagels. Here’s how: mix together (until smooth) 2 tablespoons cream cheese, 4 tablespoons natural peanut butter, 2 tablespoons vanilla yogurt, 1 tablespoon raw honey, dash of cinnamon. Cut a whole wheat bagel in half and toast. Spread the Nuttercream onto the bagel for open-faced sandwiches. For added fruit, slice bananas and place atop the Nuttercream spread.
