Try this smoothie next time your in the mood for a Virgin Bloody Mary, it’s a great alternative. If you cook your carrots until just slightly soft, you can make your own carrot juice in the blender. And here’s news not man people know, carrots actually are more nutritious slightly cooked rather than raw.
Ingredients
½ cup tomato juice
½ cup carrot juice
1 tablespoon lime juice
2 cups tomatoes, chopped
¼ cup celery, chopped
4 stalks green onions, chopped
Tabasco to taste.
2 cups ice
Directions
Pour the tomato juice, carrot juice and lime juice into the blender and mix gently.
Add the tomatoes, celery, onions and ice. Blend until smooth. Serve in chilled glasses and enjoy. Serves 4.
For an added garnish save the top five or six inches of your celery stocks with the leaves. Wash thoroughly and stick one into each glass. Another garnish option would be a couple of green olives skewed onto a toothpick.
