What could be a more pleasurable way to get your required five fruits and vegetables a day than in a icy cold smoothie. An added benefit are the antioxidants you get from fruits and vegetables. Antioxidants are viably important for good health as they prevent disease and sickness.A blended drink can be offered at any time of the day. And, is an especially good booster for the end of the day. They are easy to make and kid’s will love them too. There is an unlimited combination of choices that will greatly benefit your body. Consider a few of these fruits and vegetables:

Apple: a great source of fiber, they contain both vitamins A and C and will provide your blended drink with a natural sweetness.Banana: packed with energy, a rich source of niacin, riboflavin, and potassium, also vitamins A and C.

Blueberry: contain iron and vitamin C.Carrot: provide the highest content of vitamin A as well as beta carotene.

Celery: is known to lower high blood pressure. Contains fiber, vitamins K, C and B6.Cucumber: contains vitamin A and C as well as iron and calcium.

Grapefruit: a grapefruit a day will provide more vitamin C than the adult daily requirement. Both varieties, pink and ruby red tend to be a sweeter choice.Guava: high in vitamin C, also contains niacin and potassium.

Kiwi: rich in vitamin C and E. You won’t want to use the kiwi with dairy products as the enzymes will cause it to curdle.Lemon: excellent source of vitamin C.

Mango: contain beta-carotene as well as vitamins A and C. The mango goes well with other tropical fruits.Melon: many varieties to choose from. Cantaloupe and other orange fleshed melons contain carotene.

Orange/Tangerine: all citrus fruits are high in vitamin C.Peach/Nectarines: are a source of vitamins A, B and C.

Pear: contains riboflavin, potassium, and vitamins A and C.Raspberry: good source of Vitamin C, niacin, riboflavin and potassium

Spinach: known for it’s cleansing, building and nourishing properties for the digestive tract, intestines and colon. An excellent source of chlorophyll, vitamins A, C, E, K, B complex, carotene, folate, manganese, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and amino acids.Strawberry: decidedly the worlds most popular fruit, contains iron, potassium and vitamins B and C.

Tomato: a great source of potassium, vitamin A, C, calcium and iron.

All you need is a blender to get started. If you own one, great. If not, invest in a quality blender, you won’t be sorry you did.
